Why support Adleisia

Adleisia relies on generous donations in order to carry out its mandate: to connect, challenge, and inspire singers and music lovers in our community.

Our singers are amateurs - volunteers who work hard to perform challenging music for our audiences. Our co-artistic directors, however, are professionals, as are our collaborative musicians. We take pride in working with talented local musicians and paying them a fair wage. Your donations directly support these professionals.

Adleisia also loves collaborating with living Canadian composers by commissioning new works. You can see a list of the new works we have commissioned here. Your donations directly support our ability to commission new works, thereby supporting new Canadian choral music and paying a fair wage to up-and-coming Canadian composers.

Ways to give

Monthly gifts

Monthly gifts allow Adleisia to carry out its activities with a steady income. This frees the group to do what it does best: making music and connecting to the community.

One-time gifts

One-time gifts enable donations to go directly towards specific objectives such as the purchase of a new Canadian composition, the rental of a rehearsal space for a choir rehearsal, or the hiring of a professional accompanist.

Suggested donation amounts include:

  • $100, purchase a rental space for one Adleisia rehearsal

  • $70, purchase a new score for Adleisia

  • $20, purchase an online advertisement for an Adleisia concert

Impact of your support

Live music needs community support to survive. The fees paid each season by the choristers and concert ticket sales are not enough to keep Adleisia singing. Your donations enable us to rent rehearsal and performance space, pay our artistic directors a fair wage, collaborate with other musicians, commission and perform new works, and much more.
